Sometimes Sorrow

Sometimes sorrow slips out silently

Sometimes it sounds like spilling a drawerful of pots and pans down the stairs

Sometimes sorrow sings me to sleep

Sometimes it walks into my house and steals my seat

Sorrow sits, it waits for me like hide and seek

Some call it beautiful while others run in fear

It's not that I'm afraid of sorrow, it's just that sometimes I don't know it's there

Until I'm still enough to see, or

It loses patience and comes and finds me
